STARTING A2 MEDIA:
I think that I have gained a lot of experience from the AS Media course that will help me throughout the A2 course, which I am really looking forward to. Our main task for the A2 Media course is to create a one minute music video, as well as a CD front and back cover. I think that it will be fun and that I will get more opportunities to be creative, in comparison to making my thriller opening. I'm looking forward to further developing my skills and using the experience I already have. Over the course of the year we will be analysing music videos and what effect they have on various audiences, learning about many different theorists and their views, for example we have already started to look at Andrew Goodwin's 6 Features of Music Videos.
Personally my favourite music video's include those by artists such as Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Blur, The White Stripes etc. For example, The White Stripes video for "The Hardest Button to Button", this video utilizes "pixilation animation" in order to create the effect of dozens of drum kits and guitar amplifiers multiplying to the rhythm of the song as Jack and Meg perform. I find this technique very interesting and I would love to incorporate it into my own music video.
